After completing his last Haj, on his way back, the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him and his prophet) had stopped at a place called Ghadir Khumm on 18th Zilhij 10 Hijra (16 March 632 A.H.) and after gathering 132,000 Muslims had delivered a long sermon in which he nominated his successor.
